Hi. My name is Mark Lindberg. I just graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with undergrad degrees in Math and Computer Science. I work full time as a Systems Engineer – programming, basically. It’s not the most stressful job, but I’m still pretty tired most days.
In my spare time (HA!) I read books, spend too much time on the computer, read more books, and pretend that I know how to write.
I love reading books, and my tastes focus mainly on fantasy, tending toward the epic side, though I also enjoy a good urban fantasy or sci-fi tale. My tastes tend to fall more on the “adult” side than the “YA” side of the fence, but I enjoy a good story well told either way. Romance is probably the genre I least enjoy reading, and I’m not much into horror or heavily literary fiction–not to say there’s anything wrong with these books, but they simply do not align with what I enjoy reading. I’m old-school and I enjoy the feel of paper in my hands, so I prefer physical copies of books to e-books, but I also enjoy audio-books because they allow me to multi-task.
Hey there guys! My name is Shannon, and I’m a graduate of the University of Alabama and currently existing in stasis as I wait for the next opportunity to apply to graduate school. Other than being a huge bibliophile, I love video games, ball-jointed dolls, stuffed animals, Japanese rock music, drawing, comic books, and many other nerdy hobbies. Like Mark, I am a big science fiction and fantasy fan and honestly don’t often read other genres, save for horror. My favorite authors are Brandon Sanderson, Nnedi Okorafor, N.K. Jemisin, and Scott Lynch.
I review books, comic books, visual novels, and occasionally other media on the blog. I also work on academic papers in the field as well, having presented at the International Conference for the Fantastic in the Arts.
If you would like to see my ramblings about my various hobbies and other topics, feel free to click the twitter link in the side bar and follow me! I warn you, there may be flailing about various Japanese RPGs and bands.
